Moderators/Discussants

The event will be moderated by Maia Szalavitz and Carl Erik Fisher. Szalavitz is a contributing Opinion writer for The New York Times. She is the author of “Undoing Drugs: The Untold Story of Harm Reduction and the Future of Addiction,” as well as “Unbroken Brain: A Revolutionary New Way of Understanding Addiction.” Fisher is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Columbia University. He is also an author. He wrote “The Urge: Our History of Addiction,” selected by The New Yorker and The Boston Globe as one of the best books of the year.
